Yes, you could argue that any film or novel that depicts criminals or villains is somehow glorifying them. I actually think Scorcese got more criticism on this point with Taxi Driver, where you have an antihero who isn't an ordinary criminal but a mentally ill vigilante. I remember when they showed it on TV, they included some silly disclaimer that Travis Bickle isn't a hero, etc. I think it's best to let viewers make up their own minds.
