It's perplexing how so many people find the simplistic atheist vs theist debate as meaningful. Most cultures throughout history don't fall into either camp. Eastern religions, shamanistic "religions," and the mystical schools within major religions all have a more nuanced view of the universe, recognizing consciousness as a fundamental principle without the need of an anthropomorphic God.
