I always considered myself Gen X, since reading the book by that name (I'm the same age as the author, lol), but somehow more recent demographics apparently pushed me back into the younger Boomer category. I think so many writers and social media influencers use stereotypes about generations is because it's one of the few ways you can still group people and even attack them with little controversy. You can't attack people based on their race, sex, sexual preference, or religion, but you can say something like, "Gen Zers are all lazy, " or "Boomers caused all our problems," and such.
